Joe's Burnley Football Cakes.

I promised myself I would not talk about football, but it is very difficult not  to in a house full of boys. For Joe's 8th birthday he announced he would like Burnley football cup cakes. 

I decided to try to make little claret and blue football shirts, with J's on. I was lucky that a friend had bought Burnley crest sugar paper, so was able to use these to.  I made some cakes claret with blue spots to add some colour and grass cakes with little footballs on. The footballs are not wonderful, but by the time I had got to then I had lost the will to live, hence looking more like black and white globes than footballs.  

They looked OK I was reasonably pleased with them, but they were by no means  perfect close up. Lucky enough Joe's 8 year old pals seemed to love them and wolfed them down.
