I thought I might do a little review of the
Hummingbird Bakery, Cupcakes and Muffins Book as I use it all the time, My friend Tracey bought this
for me for my birthday and I have used it so much ever since.
As I have said previously I always used the use
the 4,4,4, method of baking but my cakes always came out a little heavy. The Vanilla cup cake recipe is fantastic and although I was dubious at
first with its runny consistent, every time I have used this recipe
One recipe I can't get on with is the muffin
recipe, I don't know what I am doing but they always go wrong! The top
cooks and the bottom doesn’t and they always taste disgusting, I just don't get
it? I have tried loads of different recipes in books on the Internet and the
same always happens burnt tops and super soggy bottoms. So if anyone reads
this and can offer me advice on how I can get this right, please help.
My favourite recipe in the book is the frosting, until Hummingbird I could never get frosting right, this recipe is the best. It makes light white fluffy frosting that tastes just delicious, pipes really well and looks great, I would buy this book for this recipe alone.
I used to buy my frosting in bulk tubs but I wouldn't ever consider that now when it's so easy to make. All I need now is a great mixer rather than using my hand held.
In all; a great little book with some
brill recipes that are so easy to follow. I think the muffin issue is an error
I am making as I have tried a few recipes. There are lots
of different flavor cup cake recipes to try in the book I have tried a few
and liked them all. And the frosting is easy to follow and make and tastes delicious.
