Cadburys World, A family Day out.

I thought as it is Easter I would write about a few of the days out in the UK we have experienced. 

What better place to start than Cadburys World. I must say that I am not the biggest chocolate fan, I like it, but unlike some others it's not a passion. However the Boys were desperate to visit so we booked. It is a tour that you must book in advance as you are given a time slot to enter.

When are looked at the reviews they were mixed, I do believe that is because some people totally misinterpreted what the whole concept is about? Driving into Bournville village was breathtaking, I am positive this was where the name chocolate box cottage came from.  If someone was visiting the UK for the first time, it would be exactly what they expect a English County Village to look like.

Cadburys world was easy to find and there are staff available to direct you to parking spaces. The first area you encounter is a courtyard with picnic benches, it has a huge climbing frame, shops. When we visited there was a children's entertainer doing magic tricks, the atmosphere was great. We had made a picnic, so set up on a bench and ate our lunch. We were lucky it was a hot sunny day.

Once you get inside you are directed to the tour area where you are escorted around the factory, I would say this lasted for about an hour, the tour consists of a walking tour of a working chocolate factory, at certain points you are give chocolate bars for your party. By the end of the tour I have a small bag full.

You get to see how a chocolate factory works and runs, which we all found very interesting, from mixing and pouring to packing.  Then we got to see chocolate artists at work, I have included a few pictures of that as their work was so intricate and quite amazing to see the end results. And the children got to have a go a writing their names and drawing pictures in chocolate.

And for the British Cycling Team

Then you go onto a little ride, this is a cute little ride that follows the life of coco bean Men, it reminded me of  Disney's it's a small world, a little bit. Really cute and something for the younger ones, although I loved it.

 There are lots of video clips along the way, telling you the history of the factory and surrounding, villages, some are set in nice little courtyards, all were very interesting and kept the children's concentration.

We then went into an area that displayed all the old adverts and posters Cadburys have ever done, I loved this, they even had a moving model of the Gorilla playing the drums and other all time favourite adverts, some that took me back to my childhood.Some much older.

In all a fantastic day, we all really enjoyed Cadburys world,a fun but educational day out. And to Finnish it all off Chris and the Boys went into the Factory shop and much to my disgust bought their own body weights in Chocolate!
