Yesterday Chris and I visited the Woodland
Spa at Crow Wood for the Sunset Spa, I went last week with my
lovely friend Louise and decided to rebook and take Chris. Firstly I will talk
about the offer; The Spa experience for two people including a two-course
dinner and bottle of prosecco. It is such a great offer, on until the 30th June
2014, and is valid from 4.30pm Monday to Thursday.
The Entrance to the Spa |
I could not really take pictures in the spa and
wanted to chill out so left my phone in the locker, but I have found some
images to show how fab it is.
Reception |
The Spa area is fabulous and consists of a central
hydrotherapy pool surrounded by a variety of saunas, steam rooms, Roman
footbaths and a shower experience. This area has beds all around to chill, and
read a book.
Hydrotherapy Pool Area |
There is also a serenity pool, this is so relaxing
and tranquil this area is darker and had sun beds all around to relax and have
a snooze. (Chris did, he said he never, but I read a magazine for a good 20
minutes)
The outside area is fantastic, an infinity pool,
what I loved about this is that you get in the pool from inside the building
and swim out, so easy to get into. There were also two hot tubs, we sat in
these for ages and the great thing is; there is a bar so we were able to have a
nice glass of wine brought to us in the hot tub. And sometimes hot tubs
have too many chemicals in, these didn’t.
Bar Area |
Once we were ready we went up to Bertram's for dinner, last week is the
first time I have been here, I cannot believe I left it so long. I felt
Bertram's has more of a city restaurant feel, very contemporary; we could have
been in Manchester apart from the beautiful views over Pendle.
Mmm Mussels |
We upgraded and bought a starter as we were
starving after swimming 15 lengths in the pool, yes I know not that far but we
were meant to be chilling. I chose Mussels for starter, Salmon and crayfish
linguini and mulled fruit crème brûlée for pudding. It all tasted great.
So Delicious |
I love mussels and the creamy white while sauce was
amazing, the linguini was lovely very rich and filling but good, and the mulled
fruit creme brûlée was epic. I am not a pudding person but this was just epic.
The prosecco was very nice too, sometimes-free bottles of fizz are not worth
drinking but this was very nice.
It was a great offer and excellent quality and service, I can't
wait to go back again.
