Aston Hall, Sheffield.

At the weekend we attended a beautiful wedding at the lovely Aston Hall Sheffield. It is a stately home that was built in 1772 which is now a Best Western Plus Hotel. I must say the building is so impressive as you draw onto the beautiful grounds; you really get the feel of being in an English Stately Home.

The staff in reception were extremely helpful and efficient and very quickly got us checked in, it is a huge thing to me how I am greeted in hotel, it really gives you a feel for the place you are about to stay in. I must say the warm welcome was much appreciated after many hours sat in traffic on a boiling hot day.

Here is my very first Hotel room Vlog. It is so difficult trying to get the feel for a room in photos, so I thought I would try using a video. Our room was lovely; when I first walked in I felt a touch disappointed as the bed looked a bit scruffily made up. But you know what? After the initial disappointment I actually found the room extremely clean, and very comfortable.

As you can see the furnishing were very minimalist, and modern and the wet room was beautiful. Toiletries were supplied and were of a good standard. The hotel also supplied tea, coffee and biscuits along with magazines, should you get time to chill. There was also an iron and ironing board and hairdryer available for use.

We stayed at Aston Hall for 2 nights, and in that time; 3 weddings took place, the hotel was full and the chambermaids were run off their feet.

Giving that, my bed corner’s not being neatly folded was a minor thing. I would not have mentioned had it been apparent on the Vlog. After the first night our room was fully cleaned and tidied, again to an excellent standard.

On our first night we ate in the restaurant, and had a few drinks in the bar; the staff were so friendly and attentive even though they were visibly run off their feet. The food was lovely, I had Carpaccio for starter, and Caesar Salad for my main meal. I really should have photographed it as it was beautifully presented, and delicious.

Aston Hall is a beautifully decorated tasteful and very clean hotel. The service we received was fantastic, from smiling and helpful staff. The wedding we attended was stunning this really is the perfect wedding venue.
