Piccolino, Heddon Street, London

Last Saturday my good friend Lisa and I ate at Piccolino on Heddon Street in London's trendy Mayfair. I don't know if you have ever been to Heddon Street, it is the loveliest courtyard full of wine bars, restaurants and even an ice bar, set just off Regent Street. I have eaten here before, and had drinks at a few of the bars. As Lisa had not seen much of London I decided to take her here, as it feels really chic and continental.

We were so lucky it was a hot day, so London was living outside. With tables outside the front of all the bars and restaurants filled. It was such a lovely summers atmosphere.

We arrived at Piccolino dead on time and are instantly shown to our seats by a very attentive waiter.  Who immediately got us drinks, water, and left us with a Menu. It was so hard to choose, as all the food looked amazing and I was starving. I decided to go for the Carpaccio for starter, and Crispy Duck with Honey Glazed Apples for Main.

If you like your beef rare then you must try Carpaccio at Piccolino, it was to die for. Every time I think of this dish my mouth waters. It was amazing.

The Duck was also delicious and the Glazed apples were fantastic. I know its boring but when I revisit Piccolino, I will be having the same dishes again, they were that amazing.

My overall view of the restaurant.

•     It was extremely buzzing and busy, yet this did not affect the service, or friendly attitude of the staff.
•     The service was attentive; we didn't have to wait for drinks or re-fills, when requested.
•     The timing between courses was just right, time to chill, chat and digest, no longer.
•     The food was fantastic, we both really enjoyed our food, the food and service is first class.

Piccolino is a trendy stylish Restaurant in the heart of London, and I can’t wait to visit again.
