There could only be one post today; today Chris and
I celebrate 20 years of marriage. Wow, I can't believe it, it has flown by.
Although Chris seems to think it has dragged mmm.
I can't believe this time 20 years ago today I was
with my Mum, Dad, Brothers and Bridesmaids getting ready for our wedding.
Getting ready to walk down the aisle to become Mrs. Sarah Christie. It's weird
I can't imagine not being Sarah Christie now, my maiden name seems a lifetime
ago.
The weather was typical of a bank holiday
weekend. It was pouring with rain most of the day and cold, however we were so
lucky that the sun came out for the photos. We were lucky to be surrounded by
family and friends who helped us celebrate the first day of the rest of our
lives.
Yes there were hitches on the day, but I won't
dwell on that too much. I remember thinking when we realised that the caterer
had run off with our money, and had provided a finger buffet not fit for a
kids party instead of a hot carvery, this is not important the rest of our
lives is more important, we didn't let it ruin our day.
We have been blessed with two wonderful boys and a
fantastic life together; we have travelled as a couple, and with the boys.
Lived in Essex and Lancashire and moved house lots, if I am honest one or two
times too many. We have made some wonderful friends along the way and laughed
so much.
It's weird how technology has changed so much, I
have no digital images only the photos from the day, so I have had to
photograph the photos to share them. We look so young, and I am glad to say we
are as happy today as we look on our photos.
So to my wonderful Husband, Happy Anniversary, thank
you for 20 wonderful happy years. Who would
have thought we would have had what we do today? When we stood smiling for our
wedding photos, a young couple with no clue what life had planned for us.
A life that is rich with wonderful friends and
family. Two amazing boys and a dog that truly believes he is human. To all those that were there to celebrate
with us on the day, thank you for still being around. And the new friends and
family that have come along since, I wish you could have been there to
celebrate with us, but hey better late than never. We are lucky to have you all
in our lives.
Oh my goodness - what lovely memories! And the dresses - I assume this was in the '80's (those were the days, when we knew how to get dolled up!)? Many congratulations.
