Manchester Airport BA Business Lounge

Last week we flew business class to Barcelona, this included a connection from Manchester to Heathrow airport. We flew from terminal 3 and ensured we arrived at the airport in plenty on time, to give us the opportunity to have some breakfast and a coffee, before catching our connecting flight.

I must say, BA is my preferred airline but we must have arrived at the airport at an extremely busy time as it took us 40 minutes to check in via the business check in. This is the longest we have ever experienced at a business check in desk. However when we did eventually reach the desk the staffs were helpful and courteous, just experiencing heavy traffic. It was much the same at the express security lane. It seemed to take forever think this was mainly due to security fast tracking families with small children.  I do not have an issue with this as we have been in that position trying herd small children through a busy airport, it is so stressful.

For us this was a childfree trip, yippee. Don't get me wrong we adore the boys, love being in their company, and have never left the country without them before.  This was a trip, where we got to snooze on the plane and drink champagne without taking countless trips to the loo.

Honestly I am a good Mum, but we decided that as this was our 20th Anniversary we would leave them with Grandma and Granddad for the weekend.

When we arrived to the lounge we checked in and were told by the very helpful lady on the desk she would call us when our flight boards, this was fab as we could chill and not worry about getting up and down to check the information boards.

The lounge was modern and comfortable tastefully decorated and most importantly not overcrowded. We sat around the circular class dome that had views of the airport below, grabbed some pastries coffee fruit and newspapers and chilled out.

I must say it was nice and tranquil as we ate our breakfast, Chris read the paper and I people watched. There was a good selection of pastries, juice, cereal and yoghurt and a limited selection of fruit. So we were able to enjoy a coffee and breakfast before boarding our flight to London.

Had it been later in day there was a good selection of beers spirits and wines for something a bit stronger.

The lounge also had a dedicated work area; great for blogging on the go and ample plug sockets to be able to charge mobile devices.

Overall the lounge was extremely pleasant, with a great selection of refreshments, newspapers, nice touches such as fresh flowers and facilities to work on the move.
