Next Winters Nights Wish List

With the night drawing in I thought I would make a little wish list for those snugly winters nights. I love nothing more that coming home in the evening and snuggling by the wood burning stove in my PJ's, slippers and a snugly blanket.

My Joules Style Crush Wish List

I though I would share my current style wish list, this is the perfect outfit for family lunches, shopping and casual meeting, perfect country chic.

I just love Joules and the Mr. Toad Tweed Jacket is my style crush of the season. It is so stylish and can be easily dressed up or down. I am also loving the caramel accessories, not a colour I would usually choose but looks great with this outfit.

Next Autumn Wish List

I thought I would share my autumn wish list today, as the night are drawing in and the temperatures are dropping I have found myself feeling uninspired by at my autumn wardrobe. I think loosing a stone has a lot to do with it as last year I went for lots of oversized sweaters, which at the time I loved but of course as they are oversized any way, so now they all feel a little big.

So here is a little wish list from Next, I am loving the whole brown theme, and just love the western style boots, and the DKNY necklace, I am not a jewellery person but it is quite understated. This look is perfect for a Saturday afternoon bar snack and drinks of girls shopping trip to Manchester, which of course must include the odd cocktail.

I like the fact that Next has teamed with brands to allow you create an affordable outfit that you can splurge on the odd key item, or just go mad and splash out on the lot. Its great to have that choice all on one site.

Rainbow Braid Loom Bands

We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to try out Rainbow Braids from the lovely people at Paper and Twine. Joe is a mad loomer, along with, it seems, all of his friends at School. So I thought this would be a great rainy day project for us to work on together.

The loom bands and loom arrived 24 hours after my initial contact from Rainbow Braid's Amazon Shop, this was wonderful, and I must say a huge relief. I had made the mistake of telling Joe the loom bands were on their way. So speedy delivery was a huge plus.

When they arrived I was surprised at how many were in the pack, yes I knew we were expecting 5400 loom bands but I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of colours we received. And at £14.90 or £1.20 per individual packet including delivery they were also great value. We decided to send some bands to Joe's best friend Fin so he could work with us and make some bands. I also used half the bands to make a loom to the moon loom band for the wonderful Skye and Jesse at Blue Sky thinking.

The colours were nice and vibrant and really appealed to the boys, in fact Joe and I spent quite some time negotiating over our favourite colours. The bands were also supper stretchy and trust me when you are spending 1 hour per night trying to contribute to the worlds longest loom band this makes a difference as they don't dig in and strangle your fingers as much.

Joe and I also learned a new skill, we had never made a dragon scale band before. After watching an online tutorial we both managed a completed dragon scale. So now I can hold my own with the kids in the looming department.

Overall my opinion of the Rainbow Braid's are; great value with speedy delivery, lovely vibrant colours, good quality loom, and super stretchy which makes them easy to work with.
Thank you Rainbow Braid we have thoroughly enjoyed working with your product, it was a great activity for a bit of calm time in the holidays, great for manual dexterity and I learned a new skill that has really impressed my kids.

Although the Bands and Loom were provided free of charge by Rainbow Braid. These are the honest opinions of Joe, Finlay and Myself.

Debenhams Back to School Competition

When I saw this competition on the Brummy Mummy of 2 blog I knew Joe would love it. The competition was asking bloggers to work with their children to create the perfect school uniform. It could be anything, a fantasy school uniform. I knew before asking Joe exactly what uniform he would choose. And I was right; Joe is obsessed with the idea of being a Jockey, so decided to create a uniform for Jockey School.

Joe has been riding for around a year and a half, and it has become his real passion in life. He rides the same horse every week at the stables where he has his lessons and is absolutely in love with Dillon the Pony and Horse Riding. I am not sure how I feel about him one day riding in a hurdle race? He may change his mind, but for now he is determined.

So here is Joe's perfect Jockey School, Uniform:

Jasper Conran Jacket £32.00 Perfect to keep him warm during lessons and when mucking out the stables.

Bluezoo Wellies £12.00, Wellies are a must, not only when riding but working in the Yard with the horses.

Jasper Conran Fitted Chinos £19.00, To look stylish and smart around the stables, but also comfortable to ride in.

Ted Baker Polo Shirt £19.00, again to look smart and stylish under jacket.

Joe was happy with the mood-board once we had finished, and feels confident he will one day be shopping for a uniform just like this. However in the meantime I think we will purchase the outfit just for Saturdays. When Joe is visiting the stables and his beloved Dillon for his riding lessons.

This is my entry to the The Debenhams Back to School Competition, with www.brummymummyof2.co.uk.
