The Singing Ringing Tree, Burnley

Recently we went to Crown Point Burnley, to look at the Singing Ringing Tree.  it was designed by architects Tonkin-Lui and has been designed to resemble a windblown tree, it is made from lot of scaffolding poles. That work like wind pipes so that when the wind blows it creates an eerie sound, almost like a song. See Visit Burnley for more info

When we arrived at Crown Point the tree seemed miles from the car, it was really cold and windy and to be honest I didn't feel like it was worth walking to, but Joe was desperate to have a look so I agreed. It is quite a long walk from the car park, but was worth it. It is oddly beautiful to say it is in essence a pile of scaffolding poles, every time the wind blow it makes an eerie singing noise.

To top this off, the views are beautiful from high up on Crown Point, you can see for miles and Pendle Hill looked beautiful as a backdrop to it all. So yes it was definitely worth the trek from the car to see.
