The Countryfile Calendar

We all really enjoy Countryfile in the Christie household, it is something we all sit down to watch. Joe especially, he loves wildlife, insects and animals. In fact I would not be surprised if he one day becomes a farmer, last year he won a competition to spend a day on a farm and he absolutely loved it.

This is another of the pictures we took on our walk.

Joe noticed on Sunday night whilst were watching Countryfile, that they were running the competition for the 2015 calendar. He was so excited; he was so cross at me last year when we missed the deadline. He really believes we are in with a chance of winning! Fortunately we had recently had a walk through the fields and taken lots of photos. All we had to do was decide which one to send in.

100 Happy Days, Day 79, The End of a Lovely Sunny Day.

For today I have chosen this view, it is beautiful. I love the hazy view at the end of a beautiful sunny day. Unfortunately I have been inside all day so have not seen the sun, but it makes everybody so much happier.

100 Happy Days, Day 68, Wow

I looked out of the window tonight and saw this! Yes I know the view is there every day. But it looks different during certain times of the day, seasons and weather. So its rare to see the same view twice.

100 Happy Days, Day 61, A Beautiful Tree in the Miserable Rain.

I know the weather is miserable but this tree looked beautiful in the rain today; when Toby and I was getting soaked on our walk. A beautiful frame to a very miserable Pendle backdrop.

100 Happy Days, Day 56, Country Roads

Today I have chosen a picture of the road I live on, it is so quiet and peaceful. I walk on it every day and don't really take much notice of how peaceful it is. Not to many cars, birds singing and most of all calm and tranquil. It is especially nice on hot sunny days like today. But isn't everything great on a sunny day?

The Singing Ringing Tree, Burnley

Recently we went to Crown Point Burnley, to look at the Singing Ringing Tree.  it was designed by architects Tonkin-Lui and has been designed to resemble a windblown tree, it is made from lot of scaffolding poles. That work like wind pipes so that when the wind blows it creates an eerie sound, almost like a song. See Visit Burnley for more info

Rain on a Sunny Day in Lancashire

When I was on my walk with Toby last week I came across this spectacular rain cloud.  It had been a warm day and as you can see blue skies. Then in the distance I noticed this cloud; I still cannot believe it when I look at the picture.

We live very high up and can often see rain in the distance but not like this! You can clearly see the rain bending and see how heavy it was raining. I took the two photos 5 minutes apart and the rain is still going strong. I am so glad I had my phone with me to take pictures.

100 Happy Days,15, Joe and Harry stream Hopping

Today I have chosen this picture of Joe and Harry stream hopping, we went for a fantastic family walk today with the dogs, we got soaked the dogs were filthy, but it was great. Joe and Harry were likes pigs in muck splashing about in streams.
