When I was offered the opportunity to
review Johnsons First Touch Fragrance free Range I jumped at the chance,
although my baby days are well and truly over, a very good friend of mine Louise,
has the most beautiful little girl Suzie, my lovely little goddaughter.
The problem is Louise suffers from the most
terrible dermatitis. It is so bad it ended her Hairdressing career; her hands
could just not take the daily grind of salon life. Lucky enough for the
Hairdressing Profession she is now a very talented Hairdressing Teacher.(Currently
on a short career break to be a Mummy) As her
core skill is bridal hair she is able to control her dermatitis by wearing
gloves when touching wet hair.
There have been days when I have found it
difficult to look at Louise’s hands when they are blistered, cracked, and
bleeding, yet she carries on always smiling and never moaning. She has had many patch tests and is allergic
to lots of products; fragranced products seem to cause particular problems for
her. There have been days that her
hands have been so bad that her Hubby Paul has had to take over with
bathing changing etc, as her hands just crack and bleed. So as soon as I saw these products I knew they would be
perfect for her to test on the lovely Suzie.
So, here’s what they thought.
First Touch Shampoo
Louise loved this she tested it on the whole family, being a Hairdressing Tutor she really put it through its paces, she found it lathered really well as a result you didn’t need to use too much product. She found it gentle, does not sting the eyes, but leaves the hair feeling clean and soft.

First Touch Moisturising Lotion
Louise felt it was perfect
for sensitive skin, she noticed one day Suzie's skin looked a little inflamed
due to teething and felt that the Moisture lotion calmed her skin. She also
liked the fact that it absorbed instantly, and left no sticky residue like some
moisturisers do.
All in One Body Wash
Again the product went a long way but
Louise felt it was best to use a body puff with it to really get the most of
the product. She felt it lathered better with a puff and prevented over using
the wash thus lasting much longer.
Wet Wipes
As they are fragrance free she felt they
were kinder on sensitive or sore skin.
Barrier Cream
Louise Felt this was a good every day
barrier and nappy cream, but on some occasions preferred to use the
moisturiser. However still liked the product, she also used this on her cousins baby who has very sensitive skin and
he too was able to use it without sensitivity.
Overall verdict, Louise loved the products
and felt that they were kind and gentle to use on Suzies skin yet still were
effective in cleansing and moisturising, she liked the fact that the products
were cost effective to use, us Hairdressers are a bit obsessed with
sustainability. It has been drummed into us.
Most importantly they caused no sensitivity
at all to Louise’s super sensitive skin, this is huge to a Mum that at times is
in absolute agony at the simple task of bathing and moisturising her baby. This is a task that all Mums should enjoy and
treasure, now Louise can relax knowing she has found a product that does not
irritate her sensitive skin. The only tiny minus she could find was that she
missed the baby product smell, but then went on to say that if it did have the
smell she would be unable to use it. I asked her if she would buy the products
again and she said absolutely yes.
Although the lovely people from Johnson
sent us the products to try out the opinions are strictly that of Louise and
Suzie.
What great products, I like the idea of something so gentle for delicate skin. Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fab product range and great to hear it was kind to her super sensitive skin! I hate fragranced baby products, the smell makes me feel a bit sick so I often opt for sensitive options as they have less strong fragrances! Will definitely bear this range in mind!! Xx #triedtested
