Hotel Casa Fuster Barcelona

When we were in Barcelona we were lucky enough to stay at the beautiful Hotel Cast Fuster. I spent ages researching to get just the right Hotel. We wanted 5* as we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, and were leaving the boys in the safe hands of Grandma and Granddad. We wanted a great location near to Las Ramblas, modern rooms, and a roof terrace to sunbathe with a plunge pool, ha ha I don't want much do I?

I felt Casta Fuster ticked all those boxes so we booked with ebookers, through Quidco and got 10% cash-back. This is a great way to book hotels as Quidco gives cash-back on most hotel booking sites, so not only do you get a great rate but you also get money back in your bank.

The hotel is located on Paseo de Gracia, which is directly above las Ramblas, it is a modernist building built in 1908 by the Modernist architect, Lluis Domènech i Montaner. The hotel is surrounded by, boutiques, high-end stores, lovely restaurants and bars. We checked in at 8pm at night, the hotel reception were extremely friendly and offered us lots of advise about where to eat and the surrounding area. The bellboy also gave us lots of hints and tips as he escorted us to our room.

Les Quinze Nits Restaurant Barcelona

If you visit Barcelona you really must visit this lovely little restaurant.  It is nestled in Placa Reial, the most beautiful square, which is surrounded with bars and restaurants, situated just off las Ramblas. We stumbles across Placa Reial by accident, we had spent the day enjoying walking the streets of Barcelona, seeing the sights, shopping, stopping every now again for a glass of wine.

Las Ramblas was busy and buzzing on a beautiful hot August day, we decided to get off the main strip and explore the real Barcelona rather that endless gift shops that the bottom end of las Ramblas has to offer. And there it was Placa Reial.

It was stunning surrounded by beautiful historic buildings. Cafe bars and restaurants were situated all around the square. There was a flea market in the center that was packed with locals. We looked around the square for somewhere we would like to eat and decided on Les Quinze Nits. It was so pretty with an arched verandah, pretty floral chairs and flowers on the tables and looked so inviting.

Calf Diet Week 17, A Weekend Away and I Somehow Managed to Maintain My Weight

I cannot believe I have maintained this week, I fully expected a gain. Chris and I celebrate our 20th wedding Anniversary this week. We decided rather than pressies we would book a weekend in Barcelona without the boys. Although I was a bit nervous about leaving the country without them and feeling they were missing out. I was secretly excited.

We had a wonderful time and decided the boys would have hated it. We made the most of childfree time and spent hours sat in tapas restaurants; people watching, chatting drinking wine and eating tapas. Lying by the pool and reading, yes you heard me right reading a book, whilst sipping wine uninterrupted without constantly checking our children were safe.

Also shopping uninterrupted between tapas bars. I did try to choose healthy choices. But that isn't always easy with tapas is it? And did not hold back on the lovely wine we enjoyed. We traveled business class so were plied with food, wine and champagne in the amazing Ba lounges.

However I did encourage Chris to walk everywhere rather than get taxis and must have walked miles, thinking I would be burning off all those extra sin’s. So what a huge bonus, I have had the most amazing weekend, enjoyed good food and great wine and maintained my weight. The problem is I have had such a wonderful time I just want to book again.

Barcelona, Park de Guell

Last year we took the boys to Park de Güell Barcelona, I had wanted to take them for a while but did not know quite what to expect.
