Creating Family Memories With 100 Years of Commercial Flights

When the lovely Brit Mums set the challenge to 'Celebrate 100 years of commercial flight with the #Flying100 Family Holiday Challenge' I was so excited. An excuse to think about holidays and travel, hoorah, I love travelling; it is my absolute passion in life. But then came the tricky part writing about my dream destination. Arghh, too much choice, I want to show the Boys the world. 

   

How could I possibly begin to choose, I go through this trauma every time I book a holiday, I just can't decide or pin point where in the world I want to go. I know this is an extremely lucky position in life to be in, to have these choices. 

Since the boys were born we have endeavoured to take them exciting, educational places for our family holidays. We love cruising as a family, we love waking up in a new country every day, the explorers in us can't wait to get off the ship and visit exciting historical places such as Pompeii or explore beautiful Cities such as Barcelona and New York. 

It also fulfills the adrenalin junkie and sports maniacs in the boys, they thrive on activities such as rock climbing, ice skating and surfing,  and spend hours on board skipping from one activity to the next.

We also love Disney World, again this is the sort of holiday that is non stop. Where we spend days riding roller coasters and watching exciting stunt shows and breathtaking firework displays. In fact our holidays seem represent our lives, fast paced and chaotic. 

So when considering this post I decided to take it back a notch, when Jack was younger we spent a couple of years enjoying idyllic Caribbean holidays, the tragedy is that he can only Just remember walking in the sand, watching sea turtles on the beach and listening to the dulcet tones of the wonderful Bob Marley whilst watching the waves lap back and forth on the beach.

What is even more or a shame is that Joe was not around to enjoy these memories with us, so when we talk about these memories and look at photos of us all clambering up Dunns’ River Falls. Poor Joe isn't part of the memory. 

If I were to choose a dream destination it would not be something new at this moment in time. I would re visit Jamaica with all of my Boys, to create new memories to include Joe. I would love him to feel the excitement we all feel when we hear a Bob Marley track on the radio or see a picture of a Caribbean sunset. So my dream destination it the Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay.

This is where Chris, Jack and I stayed last time we visited the beautiful island of Jamaica. I would love to dine on the beach, sunbathe with a Pina Colada, whizz down the water slides and float around the wonderful lazy river, creating memories with my whole family that will stay with us forever.

I just cant imagine a life without Air travel, as a Mum I find it so exciting booking my next flight for Chris and I to take the Boys to experience and new city, culture or experience. Memories they will remember for the rest of their lives.
